Double up docking AKA rafting????????

I have operated strangers boats many of times and docked and undocked a few boats. Every time its someone who can’t do it there self so I offer to help and they hand it right over with out a second thought. Suprises me Every time. Back when morris island used to be fun people would raft and go boat to boat, random people would pop up in your boat. One year at the regatta everybody was tied together and swimming in the space behind the boats and some idiot cranked his boat and hit the gas and yelled Jacuzzi, he was tied to all the boats. I was right outside the circle so I saw like 9 boats get pulled and heard a lot of screaming. Somebody ko’d the guy and some people cheered.

I bet you used life jackets as fenders, didn’t you?

Fixt

Fenders are white and made of plastic. Bumpers are orange and made of life jackets.

I think what they are saying is don’t be a buckithead.

The way you described it was pretty bad on your part.
You blocked a guy in and then instructed him it was his responsibility to tend your boat?
That’s pretty good. I needed a good laugh today.

Here is your new “boating code of ethics”

Don’t tie up to strangers boats without consent.
Don’t board a boat without permission.
Don’t inconvenience others for your own convenience.
Don’t bring that selfish attitude to the dock and think people are going to take your crap.

You in no way were helping anyone except yourselves.
Fix your attitude.
Ask nicely before doubling up.
Watch so when they are ready to leave you are there to tend your own boat.
Make the process as easy on the inside boat as possible so next time they are more likely to allow you to double up.

and show some (**() respect and thoughtfulness to others.

Just untie the outside boat and let it drift away, pretty common sense to me.

Down here is where a signature goes but they can confuse and anger some people so I don’t have one.

And this.
Sorry guys, but I’m gonna be that guy…

Guys, Seriously… Thanks for the comments. I def take criticism when in order and its was in order. We were in the wrong and after thinking about it, it was a bone head move on our part.I asked because I truly wanted opinions on the topic. Guess you wont know till you ask. Now I know and stand corrected.

Not bashing anyone in particular but if someone “tied” up to my boat and left it, then its mine to just let it go. Don’t tie up to others boats or docks without permission. PERIOD!!!

I would suggest not going to any of the bars/restaurants in this area then as it is the norm to raft. Have you ever been in Shem Creek on a nice weekend day? It has been my experience that most take great care when rafting, I did have someone take a bumper that I had hanging from a piece of PVC in a rod holder one night.
