Dove and/or Duck Club

Just found out the club was dissolved this year. Anyone got any leads on club memberships?

Your asking a hard question for Dove and Duck clubs. What kind of membership fees you looking at skinnyj?

Duck not so bad as we have lot’s of good public areas as long as you are willing to get up early to get to the spot. Dove clubs are gonna be a little different unless someone invites you to a few private shoots.

Hey Fred, I used to hunt the public places many years ago. It’s just too crowed to be enjoyable anymore. I prefer the atmosphere of a club. Also, my dog will be 11 years old, so he’s probably limited to impoundments and canals right now. Not sure how well he would hold up in the rivers.

As far as membership money, it depends on how good the club is. The club that I hunted this year was a good time. Killed plenty of wild birds there.

Sucks that club is gone…I enjoyed many a good hunt up there the past couple of years and it was only getting better.

I’ve asked around a bit but not getting you any decent info. There is a guy (David Tripp) that used to do a lot of dove hunts, but I haven’t seen him in a while. I’ll try to find his number and maybe he can suggest something?

Can’t blame you for not wanting to put your pup in the rivers, 11 is starting to creep up in age. And I can not blame you for staying away from public areas. It’s hit or miss on finding a secluded spot.

I know of an equity club near Columbia that may be looking for a member. Property is 3200 +or- acres. Half is sandhills and half is river swamp. It has an established duck marsh. Deer, hogs and turkeys abundant. Be prepared to dig deep into your wallet. I have had the privilege of hunting there for several years as a guest. The property has a clubhouse and a walk in freezer for game storage. Deep water access to the Wateree River as well.
PM me and I will contact my friend who is a member of this club.He has indicated that he might be willing to sell as health has become an issue. Serious inqiuries only please. You are looking at 5 figures.

Not sure how I didn't see this post earlier, but thanks for the info! That sounds like a pretty cool opportunity, but I am looking for something a bit closer to Charleston. Thanks!
