Down Grading to smaller rig

Thinking of selling my rig.I see all these flats boat up in the grass all the time.I can float at about 16 inches and push around with an oar.Found out what mine is worth and may just go with a flats rig.Any ideas about flats rigs? I will not need a platform. That is just something I would fall off.:smiley:

How much you asking for your or have you already got a buyer? pm meif you dont won’t it out there.

I have a simple little rig for sale…cheap enough that you could keep your current boat…sent me a PM if interested…

Joe, something that you may want to consider is that in a flats boat you’re going to be stepping on and off( up and down) the casting decks all day. Even though you’re still young at heart, your knees will tell you otherwise. I think that I would look for a beamy bay boat and put a 36V trolling motor up front.

Seels is getting one in next week for me to look at.Knees already shot. Thanks for the info.

My rig is worth between $23-25K.Motor has 300 hours and I think 4 years left on warranty.New Power pole was $1600.New Batteries about $280

Joe, a bay boat may be the best thing for you… Some flats boats are not real stable. You can step on the side of my boat and its not going to toss you in the water…

Thanks i am looking at bay boat something.Maybe a 150 on it.

As a flats boat owner I can say this. If you’re not going to pole the boat get a bay boat and 24v trolling motor and PP. Used 22 Pathfinder is a fishing machine.TM will change the way you fish, and for the better

Hey Joe, just remember the new boat has to be big enough to put ‘STONOMAN’ down the side of it.

go look at that Bulls Bay 200 Due South posted. I looked at it the other day and it seems to be the best bay / cc / flats “hybrid” boat I’ve even seen. I bought mine last night  … they are a hell of a deal right now

Hard to beat a bay boat for the ride. I have rode on quite a few flats boats and I must say if I was going to purchase one it would be a 191 ranger Cayman. A good friend of mine has one and it keeps you dry and eats chop for breakfast. A flats boat will beat u up on a slightly windy day. Not near as comfortable of a ride as my bay scout… I’ve also had it in some really skinny water as well. Here’s a pic

P.S. I think Stonoman would fit on the side just fine but its not for sale!
