Do any of you guys ever use downriggers to slow troll live baits or lures for kings? Getting a free pair from a family member and want to use them to their full potential.

live or dead bait very slow. can get away going a little faster with dead bait like ribbon fish or cigar minnows, but I personally do not troll diving lures etc on my downriggers. learn how to properly use them and youll love them.

Not to hijack your thread, but what weight balls do y’all run? Mine are 8 pound and it seems they sail behind the boat at normal trolling speed…
4 pound for slo troll , z-wing for 7-10 knots
