I had to remove the spool on my reel due to braid getting caught up under it. Now when I put the spool back on and tighten the drag knob the drag does not engage. What am I missing?
Is the small plastic washer on the bottom side of the spool still there? If it is, then make sure the spool is seated correctly on the shaft. Either one of those issues will cause the drag not to engage properly.

I got great service from Haddrell’s. Turns out there is a very fine wire circle with prongs sticking out attached to a post on the underside of the spool. The prongs had slipped from their place so no " clicking ". Fixed in 15 minutes and fishing 45 minutes later.
