Anybody on here have experience with the plastic modular boat lifts that you drive onto? I live on wadmala sound and have a wooden dock with a floater that sits on mud a low tide and has 4’-5’ of water under it at high tide. I’m wondering if this type of set up would work to keep the boat out of the mud.
It would work but you must get a permit from DHEC/OCRM to make the modification. The project manager for your area can be reached at 953-0237. Bill can answer your questions.
Olde Man Charters
Hey Marcos. PM sent.
Olde Man Charters
I know of a slightly used one in your area that might be coming up for sale- can save you a fair bit of money.
thanks for the reply’s does anyone have actual knowledge of these lift being used in a tidal situation where it would sit on mud at low tide?
you can use a drive on style but not the air assist- it will clog with mud.
Dockman I sent you a PM
I have a Dock Blocks drive-on setup for my 17’ Whaler. We have a 6’ tide swing and one edge of it does sometime get into the mud. Its 2 years old and holding up well. Quite frankly, I love it. Never had a situation where I couldn’t get on/off. You’re welcome to come see mine.
There’s no I in Barbeque Team.
i keep a little 16 ft Towee on a JetDock that sits on mud at low tide. works great. i chose the jet dock primarily because i liked the winch system- can manually pull the boat out of the water even if the jet dock isn’t completely floating. they go on sale a few times a year (sales typically associated with boat shows)- can save you some $$.
My FIL has two at his place. Tidal creek and sits on the mud. It will wear a little into the mud, but it actually helps with getting some water there on low tide. They work great. Way better than a lift as there’re no moving parts.
I’ve been told they are EXTREMELY slow to tow so if you buy one and offer to move it start early.

I want to catch them all
Dockman I would be interested in the used one you know of what size boat is it for?
