Drones

The point is too much govt. control takes away our freedoms…one little step at a time…BO. If you can’t see this then you are lost. I agree…Bush should not have signed that Magnuson fisheries bill…it has become a complete cluster…to my point…the result of too much govt. regulation.

Not only are the Feds using them…check this one out…Kudos to the Colleton County sharpshooter…and the one in PA.

Try going over to England and doing some fun fishing…or hunting…big govt. took over long ago and now only the rich have access.

The average and largest percentage of fishermen need to keep speaking out against this overt govt. control.

whats all this jibberish have to do with bad guys getting caught breaking the law?

Yeah,I had fun, then George Bush signed the Magnusen-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Reauthorization Act of 2006, on Jan 12 2007,and bottom fishing was f-cked.Yellowfin tunas are no longer being caught recreationally out of here, and why troll around on $5/gal gasoline to catch mahis?

I have higher priorities, something called wife and kids.

How does me being invited to fish tournaments on large boats, make me responsible for the welfare of future generations?

sounds as if you need a little midol,Bo.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Aren't drones used for spying? So now we are spying on citizens who are not even accused of a crime. Does this mean cops are allowed to start peeping in our bedroom windows hoping to "catch bad guys"?

I think you hit the nail on the head with George Orwell, 1984.

It’s not just the drones that are spying on us, it’s everywhere. For a long time. I remember reading signs in the early 1970’s when crossing from Georgia into Florida. “Warning Speed Monitored by Aircraft”.

So what’s really different from traffic speed monitored by manned aircraft versus speed monitored by un-manned aircraft? Or fishing laws monitored by manned, or unmanned craft?

Way back when I was a kid, 45 years ago, long past the statue of limitations, we would sometimes pull drag nets in some creeks at night, set a door on each bank and take every shrimp in there. At that time the DNR was searching by aircraft for us scoundrels doing that. The phosphorescence showed up for miles from the air We were real careful and we stopped and listened a lot:smiley:

Those dang drones are quiet though! I sure don’t like it, but I can see the progression. They are surely spying on us almost every moment of our life. Our pictures are being taken and our locations recorded everywhere we go. Most major intersections have traffic cameras, many highways have them on every overpass. Our little town has 6 cameras and you aren’t coming or going without getting your picture taken.

You are photographed when buying gas, booze or soft drinks in every establishment you visit. Time and date stamped. Every credit or debit card purchase, every visit to an ATM, buying bullets at Walmart, picking your nose in the parking lot at Walmart,

The newest update on Google Earth clearly shows me sitting on the back porch of my house.

I think you are exactly right, and that was my assumption at the time. We were fishing in the grass right across from Paris Island. Wasn’t catching much, glad I wasn’t with the wife on the bow cushions though[:I]

Yall ever fish in the Keys? They’ve got a blimp named Fat Albert that is tethered on Cudjoe Key and it monitors every aircraft, boat, raft and probably every radio communications in the southern GOM, Atlantic and Caribbean. you can see it from 40 miles away sometimes. It’s been there since 1980. I heard it was being decommissioned last March, don’t know the current status, probably replaced it with drones.

I bet they got a lot of good pictures of boat sex from that one [:0]

One more comment and I’ll shut up.

I could be wrong, but I think the drones being used for photographing fishing violations are probably multi-purpose and shared by the border patrol, Customs, DEA, FWS, Homeland Security and other alphabet Federal agencies. It doesn’t take computers long to share information today. The same drone that takes your picture cleaning grouper is also looking for Colombian cocaine traffickers and Cuban refugees.

Feds don’t need drones for the MPA’s. I have a relible source that tells me satellites can read the numbers on commercial boats in MPA’S

Come on man… How about upgrading me to something with stars and stripes on it… All American shirt… The predator should have a swastika on one wing and the ruskie hammer and cycle on the other wing. The fuselage should read “United Police States of America”. Because that is where we are headed…

Na skinneej, it needs one of those Hope and Change logos on it:face_with_head_bandage:

Only if the sky is clear, a little cloud cover and the only thing a satellite is good for is heat signatures. I’ve seen Licence tag pictures on I-29 and rank insignia on the flight line in 1987. I’m sure the telescopes on satelites have improved since then. It’s just a matter of were they want to point them and cloud cover. Wonder how many bare boobies have been stared at from back yard tanning? How about peeing over the porch? That seems like a lot of invasion on one’s privacy.
