I posted this a couple years ago, but its worth refreshing.
Just a week ago a recent Fort Dorchester grad and friend of a friend of my boy drowned at Sullivan’s Island. Very tragic. Big, strong dude. Good swimmer. You never would have picked him to be the one.
Folks, this is worth a read

yeah, thanks for posting this. Last year we were at the 'hood pool and my friends 5 yr old son was swimming in from deeper water to the shallow 3 feet water. Everyone talking & standing around and I just happened to look at him for a split second and seen him go under. No panic, no yell, nothing, just sank. He was about 6-8 feet from me and I got him. Man that scared the hell out of all of us. He started coughing and spitting up water when I got him. Keep an eye out.
Great article, everyone on this site should read it. I was a life guard and swim instructor in my younger days and have pulled a couple people from the pool and 1 guy from the ocean, none of them made a sound until after they were safe.

My son went to school with the kid from FD. My family was in the Waffle House on Memorial Day evening and James came over and talked to my son. He said he had one class he needed to pass and he was going to graduate. He died the next day. That was very wierd for my son who is a little “spooky” in the first place.
