Dry Stack

What do you expect to pay to keep a boat in a local dry stack? I have a 19 foot bowrider. Thanks for any advice.

I pay $12.50/ft, seems like most places are anywhere from $11-14/ft depending on location. Also, places I’ve used have given a discount with a longer term lease.

Oh yeah, and this is the only bill I have that I’m actually happy to pay every month!

Thanks for the insight. We live in Charlotte – and the fuel to haul the boat kills me, so I thought maybe dry stacking it would be a more cost effective method. I used to keep it about 30 miles inland, but I still had to drive the truck there and back to pull the boat to the landing.

You say its the only bill you are happy to pay – does it make it that much easier for you? I think about how nice it would be to not have to deal with trailers, parking at landings, etc.

I know what you mean. I live in Rock Hill and would average 10 mpg taking my boat down to the coast. I just put it in dry storage. It is $13/ft (inside) for a year contract. Last weekend was my first weekedn doing so and it was much more convienent. Sunday morning we walked down to the dock, but our gear (lunch) in the boat and headed out. All of the facilities I spoke with have carts to carry your tackle and supplies to and from the dock so that saves on walking too.
I calculated that two weekends per month just about covers the difference in fuel costs for me, just hauling it down there. Plus it saves wear and tear on my truck and trailer.
