DSLR and lenses

My wife is looking to buy a Canon EOS DSLR camera. She still has a very nice Tamron lens that she used on her old Canon EOS manual focus film camera. Do any of you know if that older lens will work on the new DSLR cameras? I would imagine the mounts are still the same but not sure if the technology is compatible. She could save a few hundred bucks if it would work. Any advice? - Thanks

I believe they will still work as manual lenses without the auto focus.

Yes, all digital EOS cameras with APS-C sensors starting with the 20D and the Rebel series will accept any EF or EF-S lens. The considerably more expensive full frame and APS-H cameras - like the 5D, 1D, and 1Ds series cameras - won’t accept the newer EF-S lenses and are only compatible with the EF lenses.
