I was down at Hickory top Saturday morning and man were they bunched up on top of each other. We headed way down to the end to try and get away from the crowds and still shot limits. During the hunt I recalled someone yelling very briefly. We thought someone was looking for a wounded bird or calling their dog, but now I think it must have been the hunter referenced in the article above.
I usually cultivate at least one dove field on our place every year and the best thing about it is introducing people to bird hunting. I always brief even long-time hunters about gun safety, shooting angles, and high-risk situations.
I hate to hear about these accidents that can so easily be avoided through common sense and basic safety measures. I was wondering if anyone had any more details about what happened to this guy.
