Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Lord have mercy!!! What a shame, do you need attention that bad?
Dmartin 70 don’t let these clowns bother you.

Would love to get a couple big ducks, got woodies down here. All the big ducks are on the plantations.

Thanks Saltydog235, but I go there every other year, just looking for somewhere here in SC for the last two days of duck season.

Where are you hunting Dmartin? I’ve been seeing mostly woodies, mallards, mergansers, and GWT where I’ve been hunting. Hasn’t been great, but thats expected in the area I hunt. Had a few buddies shoot a bunch of ringnecks and redheads this past weekend, and they’ve had more luck on the big water lakes than the river, swamp, etc.

In the Bluffton, Beaufort area.

Try hunting potholes and flats out on the points. Got a friend hunting that area that seems to do pretty well and shoot a nice mixed bag whenever they go out in beaufort. Scouting is about the only way to find em around here, but its a little late for all that.

After having been to Arkansas it’s really hard for me to even hunt ducks around here now.

How about some friendly advice, scout, scout and scout some more. No self respecting, successful South Carolina duck hunter is going to help some stranger on the internet. Its a harsh reality but the **** you have to do to consistently kill quality birds in this state keeps the successful hunters tight lipped. There are plenty of birds to kill, but the only way to do it is by putting in time and effort, and asking questions on internet forums surely isn’t that. Good luck and happy hunting.
SCDucks is a great place to get some info. Head over and ask those fellas.
Thanks & salty 849, I guess if your that type of hunter that is not willing to help out anybody. If your ever in this area and need help finding or doing anything that I can help you out with just let me know. I’m the type that would carry you to the area and show how to do whatever it is your trying to do.
good luck to you. just remember somebody helped you out sometime is the past.

ducks in the blowout. Killed a three man limit there this morning. Who cares if you tell someone at this point. Heck i will tell you what trees to stand by. I wont be able to go anymore, so someone might as well kill them. Once all the people leave at 8:30 like 90% of the people on here do, they scare up birds riding to the landing and thats when you shoot them.
“When i was young they tried to flush me down the toilet because they already knew i was the ****!”
“Run run run as fast as you can you cant catch me im the prodrive man!”
There are tons of birds here in sc right now. I kill just as many here as I do in Arkansas. I take three guys each time and we kill our limits, and we did the same in Arkansas when we went. So all these people who say duck hunting sucks in sc, or there arent any ducks right now are all idiots. Yeah you may not be killing greenheads, but pintails widgeon grey ducks and redheads die just as good as greenheads.

Plenty of places to go around here. Going Sat. for our last trip this season. Gonna be cold and windy. You just got to have time to scout here to stay on them. Boat and some binoc’s and go for a ride!
First split was ok but, not as good as last season. Second opener and for couple weeks it was slow. Having the weather to push ducks down helps too. Here the redheads have taken the place of the ringnecks and it looks like galdwalls are taking over for the mallards. Always got some woodies an a few teal to boot.
You got the big lakes, Swamps off the major rivers, and the coastal rivers and creeks , and plenty to beaver ponds if you have access. Hunting creeks and point adjacent to some of the waterfowl areas can be good. Getting next to any of the state waterfowl areas or private impoundments can be good at times as well. Several Class2 WMA areas you can walk in to as well.

I’ve always found those guys to be helpful.
Yea they can be but, a newbee goes on and ask for a spot to hunt and you are going to get your ass handed back to you. Like asking where is the Grillage fishing hole out the harbor by Sullivans.
