Sorry no pics, but I fished the harbor out the yak yesterday afternoon after work. No bites as expected until the tide really started moving out. Ended up catching 6 flounder in the last 30 minutes of daylight on gulp shrimp on a jighead. Kept one for dinner. I think the last year class was pretty strong and we should see good flounder catches through the fall.
My buddy caught over 30 flounder last week in a couple days on minnows around bushypark area, thou none over 14"… sounds good for the early Fall bite!
Caught 5 flounder today though none over 14". I have only caught 1 so far in charleston over 14". Talked to a DNR guy a while back when I was fishing breach inlet and he said the state had been putting a lot of money in rehabilitating the flounder population. Just keep throwing those young fish back and a couple more years it could be very promising with all the young fish.
