5 of us left Wappoo to a small but confused sea…headed towards the 226 Hole and lines in around 7:45 or so…Michael makes the call that the first fish will hit at 8:30…and wouldn’t you know it he was only about 32 seconds off…I’m closest so I grab the rod, they strap me in and fight a nice sized bull in close enough for Andy to stick him…dragged baits for another hour or so and had one more knock down, but had a cluster-f and lost the fish…fished in 150’ to over 500’ with temps from 70 to 76*…beautiful ocean as the day wore on and nice (almost) dry ride home…took my good luck charm, but I think we defiled it more than we praised it…lots of fun with a good crew…special thanks to Derek and Andy for making this one happen…I was a last-minute add and I appreciate it!
awesome sunrise…
Penny’s good luck charm was tested early…
scattered weeds and Michael looking for activity…
fish on! Bonzo with his biggest fish ever caught…
precision gut stick…
we never got an accurate weight but this is the port side fish box of a 26’ Sailfish…we were thinking 25-30lbs…
and if you look carefully in the upper right hand you can see dolphin #2 jumping with our pink rig in his mouth…bet he jumped 8-10 times as we laughed at him and our inability to get him to the boat…
