I’m in a bind!! My new boss, who recently moved to Chs and is originally from Iowa, wants me to take him, his son, and his father out for a day fishing. They have not fished in SC before and he knows that I fish (not catch) a lot and so has asked me to show him how it’s done. I had to give him a list of tackle to buy off of amazon! He lives in Mt. Pleasant and he is a member of the Freedom boat club out of Patriot’s Point marina. So, I will be ‘guiding’ him in whatever type of cc that he gets for the day.
Now, I’m familiar with the Stono, Wadmallaw, Kiawah, N. Edisto rivers but not anything east of the harbor. I have the standard ‘hot spots’ fishing map, but I could use some more informed knowledge of the area. Can anyone suggest areas that might prove successful. Please…my job may depend on it!! :-)!

Thanks!!
Jetties…That is about the best and easiest place to catch a variety of fish without really having to work hard to find spots. You can catch reds, blacks, sharks, sheeps, trout, jack, tarpon, bsb, rays and more. That would be my best suggestion for an area to fish and hopefully catch. Good luck!

I was trying to avoid the jetties, since he is a novice boater. I thought it would be too stressfull for him.
Decided to just go with the ‘hot spots’ map and try our luck.
If it is not too late, I suggest throwing cut bait or live finger mullet under the docks. They are there but you may need to move around to find the right dock. I like to pick one near a drain or creek and somewhat isolated. My thinking is when they come out of the drain as the tide drops and there is only 1 dock there, that is where they will gravitate too. It is August and the fish are lethargic so if you can get an early start you will improve your chances. Good luck and let us know how you do!
