Went out w/ my bro and two greenies. Started on the 180’ledge at Edisto Banks on some weed that was trying to form up on a rip. 1 knockdown. Moved out to the weedline in 200+ life was everywhere. We had to work out some kinks with the greenies and in the process jumped off a nice dolphin that piled on the left teaser. Then knocked another gaffer off with the gaff (works better if the sharp end goes in the fish). Then had a high 20’s-30lb bull chaff through the leader at the boat. We did manage two in the box 10lb and 17lb. Water temp was 72. All fish came out from under weeds or 2x4’s. Hot colors were pink, white/blue, and blue/pink. Every fish we reeled in had buddies with them but would not eat:question:. Birds working, Flyers, pods of porpoise, sea turtles every clump of sargasym had hundreds of minnows under it. Awesome trip…awesome to see that much life out there again. We’ll have to improve our hook-up to in the box ratio next time, but you’ll have those days from time to time. Oh, found some nice looking LB in 90’ on the way back in…stopped and did a couple drifts and got some of the biggest BSB’s I’ve ever seen. Then the sharks turned on and we headed to the hill. Tight lines all.
You can’t buy class like that…not even with a paeso.
