We fished the South Edisto River Monday-Wednesday. In total we caught more than 60 fish with 8 keepers on Monday, 9 on Tuesday, and zero today. Today we only caght larger reds and undersized trout.
Today, we did manage three nice redfish on finger mullet under a float, mostly in shallow water, just before to just after high tide, on or around oyster rakes. We had a 24, 26, and 27 today.
On Monday and Tuesday the trout and redfish would only hit shrimp under a float. We caught the majority of our fish in two spots, one on the river and one in front on Pine Island, in no more than six feet of water and the big fish in under two feet of water.
We also caught a blow fish today, that was a first for us.
It’s been a great fishing week and we are headed back to Aiken tomorrow.
