Has anyone one been fishing on the Edisto around Givhans State Park? What should be biting? What should I be casting? Am thinking of trying next weekend, Oct 23rd.
It just so happens I was there yesterday, only a little further down (jelico’s). Intially I tried for harleys bridge(just above Givans St.park), The landowner had cut out access to harleys, a deputy informed me he finally got tired of the trash.
I threw everything at jelicos with zero luck.(2hrs.)…Nada. worms/crickets/ bettlespins… nothin. No other boats fishing other than me.
good luck and let me know how you do.
PAPA,
This time of year is a great time to be throwing a plastic worm. Look for sections tha appear deep and close to eddies. Bounce worm off the bank when possible. Let sit for 5 seconds, slow retrive until the worm gets swept away by current. It can be quite productive on a falling river. You should have some fun with that!

Put in at Slands bridge/ashley and got a doz. bream on beetlespins… nothing on crickets. Met an old man that had good results on worms but nothin on crickets, I don’t understand it…
watch out for wasps, I saw a few nest hangin over my head and almost stepped on 12" copperhead snake!
