Took my buddy’s new to him 27’ Ocean Master “Passion Won” to the EB yesterday. Sweet boat. Ocean started flat and got a little bumpy around 90’, but we averaged 20-25 kts each way. He likes to pull strictly artificials, but we convinced him to let us drag some meat on 2 or 3 lines as well. We caught a daymaker dolphin(33 lbs.) right off the bat on a jet head and then worked a huge trash line in 200’ that must have come from one of the freighters. We put 5 or 6 dumpster dolphin in the box and worked the same 2 mile area all day. Fished from 165-225 feet all day. Final tally was 12 dolphin 33-10 lbs., 1 ledge dweller wahoo 30 lbs., and a bonita. 7 fish caught on artificials(Zukers and jet heads), 7 on ballyhoo(pink sea wasp, blue/white islander, and bleeding dolphin squitch) also had 4 or 5 knockdowns on meat and 2 missed strikes on artificials. Thanks for the trip Junior!
