Left N. Edisto at 5:30 AM with myself and two newbies headed out straight out too E.B., it was slow picking we caught 3 gaffers at the ledge then the bite quit radio chatter sounded like everyone else was doing about the same so at 2:00 we decided to troll to shallower water and picked up four more phins in 135’ of water. All in all it was a good day just to see Robert catch his first dolphin the biggest of the day.
We brought back 10 nice mahi, and the majority were caught in 110 feet of water. Tossed back a few mahi to grow and catch later. Hot color was purple which was surprising. Had 3 short strikes as well. Not sure if this means things are slowing down a bit?
