Just wondering if anyone has spent anytime shrimping either of .these places this year? We went to Beaufort last year when everybody was not doing good near Charleston and did really good. Just looking to see if anyone has tested waters we are headed down tomorrow from the upstate…
We’ve been a couple times. Caught a lot…but a lot of small ones.
Hit Dawes Sunday and Monday night. Shrimp were big but we were only getting 2 or 3 per cast. Hit the Colleton Tuesday night and got half a cooler of mixed sizes. Went deep holing in the Colleton Monday morning. Got 2/3 of a cooler in about 2 hours.
Has gotten better in St Helena sound of late. Setup in deeper water. We hit both sides of low tide and start in 8-9’ of water. Size mixed everywhere from about 90% of post and reports. A good med to large looks like as good as it is going to get. Got 1/2" shy of cooler on 19 in about 4 hrs.

We’re heading down to Grays Hill in the morning…finger’s crossed. If we don’t hit em there, we’ll do a little deep holing.
I was told by someone that the shrimp were running at Sheldon and they were good size. I am unsure as to the source so take it for what it is worth.
We shrimped near Dataw Marina two nights and got 3/4 cooler each night of mixed. We had some big ones in there but had a lot of peanuts, too.
