Edisto Island, Memorial Day weekend

I’m new to this forum and also this area, after spending the last 8 plus years in the South Georgia/North Florida Area. We are taking our first trip to the South Carolina Coast this upcoming weekend, staying at the villas by the Edisto Marina. So, like most newcomers… Is there any local knowledge pertaining to this particular Inlet. It seems, at least by looking at it on my Garmin that it is well marked and should be a decent entry point.

It looks like we’re going to have a little better than average east wind starting Saturday, so being in a “smallish” Center Console, I’m planning to stay within the 20 mile mark and look for cobia and bottom dwellers. Are there any public numbers that are any better than others?
Has there been any pogies on the beach surrounding the inlet yet?

Thanks in advance!

It’s marked pretty well. Stay in the Channel…some places can get shallow extremely quick and Navionics isn’t always right. Hard to beat local knowledge. Heading out from the Marina, stay left. The right side of the river is shallow.

Appreciate it! we’ll be sure to take some time to ease around on low tide and survey the inlet.

Send me a PM with your phone number. I’ll be glad to share.I don’t have all the answers but I can at least get you started.
