Got out on the intercoastal and fished before setting up the poles… nothing special, few reds and mostly garbage fish, but a decent start to the night, wound up tossing the 8ft heavy and 10ft spreader (though we were only in ~5ft of water)… took us about 9 or 10 rounds, but we got just under a full cooler before the weather took a turn for the worse… big suckers too.
We were consistently seeing anywhere from 5-20 per cast, some about as long as my hand… I can taste them already.
Go Tigers.
Whew that makes me happy to hear that. Be down Wednesday I just hope I can make it to the sound from the Harbor Island side. I plowed a nice V for about 30 minutes last time.
Good on you! We hit bulls bay yesterday with a quarter cooler to show for a full days work. That was right on par with everyone else out there yesterday from what we gathered.
Ya’ll better get out there before the shrimp run out… I was surprised by the number of boats out there. We didn’t run all the way down to the sunken trawlers but I wouldn’t be surprised at all that there were 10+ out on that flat…
We had 3 or 4 within a mile of our location, and once it got dark it looked like SC had invested in 968798 lighthouses with all the q-beams out there… watch the weather too, it wanted to rain really bad on us but held out for the most part til we loaded up.
Good luck, tight lines and full nets
