We’re going to try some freshwater fishing this coming weekend in the Edisto near Givhans.Does anyone know what is biting ? What bait ? Can we catch bait with a cast net or a minnow trap ?
We caught a nice mess of redbreasts last weekend between Colleton and Givhans using mainly roostertails and beetlespins. Also one channel cat on herring. The river level is about perfect.

We bought the herring in Columbia. We saw some gizzard shad but not enough to attempt to net them.
the red breastessss are biting really good right now
Redbreast hitting chart. w/black stripe beatlespins and chart. rooster tails and foxey spinners along the edges. A few largemouth too. Bite has been good last couple weeks. We were up above Stokes Bridge.
