I hauled the yak, via beachbuggy, down to the inlet 3 days. First day was getting many fish on grubs, but mostly small. Switched over to the mirrorlure, someone on here talked about, and just like he said the bigger fish took it. Brought back 11 nice keepers up to 19". Next day, same cirumstances, but a little slower with 6 keepers. Yesterday only one keeper.
Beerbuzz and I fished the surf last night. I got maybe 6 whiting, 1 pompano the previous days, last night nothing. He got a nice shark about 3 1/2 ft. , whiting, hammerhead. No reds.
Going down to the everglades for a long paddle Saturday-friday, hopefully find some fish to tell ya’ll about.
good luck…post some pics.
The more you fish, the better you lie.

quote:Nice catch! Care to share any Mirrolure tips? They're in the tackle box but rarely get used. I need to change that. Fishing a sinking or floating model? Any particular retrieve? Thanks for the advice. ~OC~

Oyster, try the s52mr11(red head/white body) plus the s52mr808(dark on top/orange belly), both are sinkers. If you like to fish at night get a sinking black one.

Thanks, Mud. You fishing any particular type of retrieve or any particular tide with these, or just whatever works? We’ve had a pretty good bite on live shrimp, but I’m tired of feeding the pinfish. Would love to find an artificial that works. Thanks,
~OC~
I like to let them make it to the bottom, then small twitch, twitch etc. Kinda like fishing a grub on the bottom. I could be wrong, but I think the sink rate is about 5 sec. to a foot?
