Anyone had any luck in Edisto this year? Coming down for my 1 trip of the year and just trying not to strike out! Been in the sound and out of Steamboat landing. Any help is appreciated.
Shrimped last Friday at Helena Sound in front of otter 1/2 cooler small shrimp . Other boats we’re shrimping to the right. Good spot on the left just before first big red channel marker .
Had a really nice trip down to Edisto last week. The tides were still incredibly high at the beginning of the week and we mostly did family boat trips and had crab traps out. Got tired of picking crabs we had so many. Didn’t get to do as much fishing as we wanted due to high tide in middle of the day and family obligations, but still had enough for some breakfast, etc. We shrimped twice in St. Helena sound around Ashe Island. Easiest shrimping I can remember in a long time. Coolered out both times in 7 or so runs. If the shrimp were larges instead of smalls or mediums we would’ve been done in record time. Hit the rising tide both times.
New boat was very stable and easy to throw from and having 4 stroke motor made it seem
like I never got thrown" off the front while switching gears. Great time on the boat with my dad, cousin and uncle. We’d about given up on shrimping, but think we’ll keep after it now.
