Was heading to a new spot 50 miles south of home. EF posted that the Sun. NOAA was no good, he was right, kind of. Northwest winds around 15 mph made for a 2-3 foot slop on the way out and due to some GPS issues we stopped short of the new grounds. Fished around the snapper banks and managed a decent day. The forecast for the PM was indeed correct, 1-2 w/ light NW, rolled in @ 40 mph.
Totals for the 2 of us:
3 ARS
4 Pinkies
1 scamp
1 trigger
1 b-liner
4+ limits of really nice BSB(8 kept for the pan in the 3# range, I still think they are the best eating fish in the sea)
A couple sharks, an albie for bait, and some other random bottom creatures.
Fished my new Penn torque 200 and a 6’ jigging stick with trigger grip. Great setup, could hold it all day and still want to fish more. Tackle has come a long way in my short life.
Think how stupid the average person is, then realize that half the people are dumber than that.
