El Dorado 051715

Left dock on the Stono at 5am. Put out lines around 8am. Just captain Billy and me. Fished around 150-250 feet in the general outcrop area. Some weeds, mostly scattered. Some temp breaks … but it was slow for us, and managed only 3 dolphin from 14 to 26 lbs.

Had about a dozen flippers just hanging with us as we were prepping to run home. A flipper encounter for about 20 minutes. Like none other. It was really cool.

We headed in at noon, right before the bite picked up from what I hear. It was an awesome ride home. The ride out wasn’t as great but still good. We were back at the dock cleaning fish at 2:30 with the rest of the day ahead of us. Great day on the water.

One a side note, as a Sea Tow member I’d love to hear how the Sea Tow transaction ended with the broken lower unit Suzuki out there. We were listening to the coast guard relays before we headed home.

Anyway … wishing we caught more, but always thankful for what we have. Take Care.
