Meanwhile, on this side of the Stream, three dear old friends and I had lines in the water at SW banks by 8:00am. Beautiful ocean on the way out. Fished 150-300 feet all day. 72 degree water give or take.
We couldn’t get the blackfin to eat although the bonito did.
Had a nice Wahoo hit the WWB on a black/red ilander with medium ballyhoo. The way it hit and fought we knew it was a Wahoo even before the line went slack and we inspected the mono leader that could’t have been cut cleaner with a pair of Fiskars. No way he would have hit had we had wire on, we told ourselves.
Picked up a couple of smallish dolphin on some nice weed lines around 180 feet.
Headed in around 1pm.
Was slow but glad to knock the cobwebs off. Good times. Always hoping for more, but thankful for what we received.
