The only brakes I have experience with are the surge brakes. But I bought a camper and it has electric brakes. Not the kind that require a controller box in the truck. The camper is easy to stop.
Does anyone use this type of brake on a boat trailer?

Electric brakes are probably fine on a camper because it doesn’t go in the water. I’ve heard the electric brakes don’t do well on boat trailers because of the regular dunking they would get.

electric brakes do fine in fresh water, I’ll seen a bunch of bass boats and a friend of mine has them on his trailer for his 30 Scarab, but they never see salt, surge brakes work better in my opinion, but only if you keep them out of salt. I’ve yet to find a set of brakes that will last if used in salt water, the Kodiak disc work better then anything I’ve seen, but they still only last a few seasons
