electric chain saw

Ok, I need to do some major pruning on some trees in our yard. I’ve had a 16" gas chain saw that I used in the past. But, I kept having problems keeping it running until finally it won’t start at all. I don’t feel like spending $100 to get the gas one fixed so I was figuring on buying an electric one.
Does anyone have a suggestion for a moderately priced electric chain saw for occasional home use? I looked on line and it seems that the WORX 14.5 amp and the Poulan 13 amp have good reviews. Any experience or suggestions??
thanks.

My father has always had a electric chainsaw. I think the one he has is a McCulloch (sp?) but not positive. I think if the occasional pruning is all you do, its the best way to go. I would even suggest an electric pole saw to help keep you off of a ladder.

WORX Jaw saw… safest saw around, great for pruning and only a dummy could get hurt with it.

Turkey… the other white meat.

Just remember that you live in Hurricane land. Just when you need that saw the most, there is NO electric!

I cut down a red maple in my front yard with a Black & Decker electric chain saw…the tree was about 25’ tall and it’s trunk was about 10" in diameter. Worked good enough…I have used it several times since then in cutting back some trees that boarder the back of my fenceline. I have definitely gotten my money’s($45)worth out of it.
