Just thought I would let people know there are some aholes around. Found my Raymarine Radar/chartplotter had been jimmied from it’s mounting and taken, and the Raymarine radome had all it’s nuts removed from the bolts. Guess they were disturbed before they could lift it!
Boats on a lift in sight of the house, so they were sneaky!
Apart from shooting the buggers if they come again, any ideas?
surveillance camera floodlight could assist LEO catch the guy(s).

superglue razor blades under the edge of the Raydome, with 1/4 inch protruding. When they grab to lift they get a surprise. I saw the aftermath of a car stereo that had them on the back…very efficient.

I live downtown and see this every few months. Friend’s work truck got broken into and they stole all of his tools and the next day hit my place and took more tools. Funny thing is that the police apparently know the guy’s name but they have to catch him in the act. I thought about putting up cameras but I assume they would get stolen. A friend near here found his stolen speargun in a pawn shop but without a serial number he couldn’t get it back. I guess if I’m bored I could sit all night in a dark corner with a shotgun and set out some bait, but that all sounds like alot of paperwork.
I feel your pain and anger. Assholes have always been around but generally their lives suck so think of that and it may make you feel better.

Sells, love the razorblade idea! I have a night scope on my sk it comes in handy for unwelcome visitors.After haveing my rods stolen out of my boat shed I installed motion detector lights with recepticals wired in to a radio turned wide open on a rap station, will scade the dickens out of you .
You know what will happen if you glue razor blades on something. The thief will cut himself, he’ll get a lawyer, sue you and some idiot jury will find in his favor.
We had some equipment stolen from our shop and made a visit to some of the local scrap yards, low and behold we found our stuff and fortunately we had serial numbers and photos. The scrap yard is required to get a photo of the drivers license of all junk collectors and we identified the guy. Trouble was I’m pretty sure the guy that owned the junk yard was in cahoots with the collector. Never caught the guy. Even if you put a motion detector that just turns on a light it would be better than nothing. I do like the razor blade idea and th shotgun is always hard to beat!!! The owner of the pawn shop is supposed to keep business records from everyone he buys from if he don’t have the info he can be summonsed for failure to keep business records. if you knock out the guys who are buying the stolen stuff they’re won’t be a reason to take it! it sucks I say take them shark fishing
