Engine Hoist

Anybody have an engine hoist / shop crane that I could borrow, or rent, or maybe even buy? I Need to pick a couple of motors off a transom and into the back of the truck. Then in a couple weeks I’d need to borrow/rent it again to put a couple motors on the transom. Doesn’t have to be a huge one, something like this. It’s a pair of old 140s coming off and a set of 150 Optimax going back on.

I’d even consider buying it from you if you have one in the garage sitting unused. I’ve seen them on Craigslist as low as $70-80, but I just haven’t seen any good prices on Craigslist recently.

Last time we did a motor swap we used a chain fall under a limb on an oak tree. Don’t know if the engine hoist will get it high enough.

Thanks guys, I have responded to both who offered.

Sells, I have used both methods on a 200 Merc and old Mako 224, come along in the tree branch and engine hoist. Much preferred the hoist method. Especially since to get to a big enough tree branch I’d have to back it into the back yard, and my back yard is soft rather not rut it up. Or do it in the street in the oak limbs in front of of neighbors houses. I’m sure they’d love their new redneck neighbor for that! It’s a 23 SeaCraft, so not like the motors are way up high. It should reach them okay. If not I have plenty of block that I can use to elevate the hoist a little.

Only used twice I’d let go for $100.
