Can anyone give any insight to the average number of hours that are put on an engine each year?
I know there can be a lot of variation, but I would like to know what a normal amount would be for a typical center console.
I’ve put on average about 100 hrs a year on mine, but I go out about once a week. Thats about right if you think about it. 52 weeks/year at 2 hrs on average. A guide would put probably 3x, 4x or more, but most of my neighbors I can tell you are lucky to have 20/year. Their boats just sit in their driveway. Quite a range!

If a CC boat is used for offshore fishing then the hours will be substainly more. Example 20 trips a year, engines running all day you are looking at 200 to 300 hours a year.

so 400 hours on a 2007 yamaha f115 is common? (looking at a Tidewater and thought 400 hours was pretty high)

400 is slightly higher than normal, but that motor is easily good for 3000 plus hours

We tournament fish and put about 300hrs a year on our boat. When it is hooked up to a computer, it has the average rpm’s at 500 since we are kingfishing more than anything the boat is always at idle.
