I’ve been having problems with the trim on my 2008 Etec 150. When I would turn the batteries switch on the motor would trim all the way up by itself. When I messed with the trim switch on the throttle or on the motor it would eventually stop and act normally. The problem was getting progressively worse with more random trim activations, sometimes up, sometimes down. Now it is chronic with the trim motor trying to run almost all the time.
I did a little research, then ordered a new trim relay as that seemed to be the answer for others. I installed it today, still have the exact same problem. Any suggestions out there???

Switch on the motor, check it again, that was our problem once. Burned the whole dang trim motor up on us. Replaced under warranty bit still a pain in the butt.
Thanks for the ■■■■■■■■. Checked it out over the weekend. I disconnected the switch at the motor and the problem persisted. I then took apart the throttle handle to inspect the switch and wire there. Found one of the 3 wires was broken right were it flexes at the bottom of the handle. Not sure why a broken wire would cause the motor to trim up and down by itself, but it was broken clean trough so i assume that was the problem. New one costs about $55, hopefully I’ll be back on the water this weekend.
