Last week I heard that E-15 will be at the pumps any day now. I understand that it will ruin you outboard motor immediately. The only notification you will see in the small sticker with E-15 on it.
What is this Stabil ethanal gas treatment, supposed to do?
I sell Pri-G and use both the Pri-G and Pri-D in my boats. I am please with the results. I’ve not sold alot of it but have had people from around the state seek me out for it. Everything that I have found out about it is that it is a superior product. The shem creek dry stack marina sells ethanol free gas and it doesn’t cost much more than filling up at the gas station. Don’t know how far you are from shem creek but it is a convenient place to fill up on your way out?
The Shell station is a little tough for a boat and truck…but you can get premium ethanol free at the See Wee Outpost, across the highway from the See Wee Restaurant. Awesome store too…it’s like a mini Bass Pro Shop.

one of my customer is a farmer, we were talking about ethanol and what a croc it is, he told me the subsidy for domestic ethanol and the import tariff on imported sugar cane ethanol were eliminated last week, i told him I’ve heard nothing of it in the press, figure no one wants to talk about it with Iowa straw poles. Any one else heard about this?
Wild Dunes has no ethanol gas at the dock pumps. Not mt pleasant but close.

My wife thinks she’s got the ethanol scam figured out.
We all know that fuel mileage is reduced by 15-20% using ethanol blends. That means we have to fill up our tanks more often.
The federal government needs tax money from gasoline sales. One of the ways to keep revenue income is to reduce the efficiency of fuels so we’ll have to buy it often.
The flaw of the thinking is the government is mandating higher cafe/mileage standards for all vehicles … as far as I know, those standards are met by using non-ethanol blends - ie using real gas. So the more efficient vehicles become with real gas, the government increases the amount of alcohol in the fuel to reduce efficiency even more and we continue to burn the same number of gallons.

In my car I get an extra 3-4 miles per gallon with ethanol free. The cost per mile for 87 octane with EtOH is more than the 93 octane without EtOH.
