Really sucks that ethanol has caused people problems with their boats. What sucks even more is that the mechanics around town have a built in “diagnosis” available to them now. If you take your boat somewhere to get fixed and they tell you that you had some bad gas and your fuel system is compromised and the repair bill will be about $1800, take it somewhere else for a second opinion. It could just be the high pressure unit in the fuel pump and a $250 fix.

I just had to replace the gas tanks and carbs on 2 3500 w generators today due to leaving gas in them since last year! Thaught I drained them. Then tanks had 2" of rust in them and so did the carbs. From now on I’ll cut the valve off and let the thing run out of gas.

I 2nd that Capt Fritz. Almost got caught with that scam years ago. There are some swindler mechanics out there. I’m glad I got a good one now.
