Will it hurt anything by adding ethanol treatment to supposedly ethanol-free gas? Is it a good idea to treat anyway?
Why add it? Waste of money. Buy E-Free and ad Stabil if you leave it sit for a while.

it is a good idea to use it because it has lube in it that the fuel injectors and pump need, unless you just want to add a few ounces of 2cycle oil to every fill up
I’d do that in all of your vehicles btw, the newer fuels are much drier and their shelf life has been shortened so much that it’s important now to keep some kind of additive in all your fuels
btw I’m a wrench and have been for a few decades, can’t tell you how many hundreds of fuel pumps and injectors we’ve installed at the shop the last few years thanks to ethanol and the epa changes…

i would not add ethanol rated fuel treatment to non-E gas
they have very different additives in the fuel, and they dont play well together

X2 most definitly. If you’re going to be storing the non E gas in your boats tank for more then a few months or so, then would add some NON E stabilizer to it.

adding non ethanol additive in ethanol fuel wouldn’t be a good idea, but adding ethanol additive in non ethanol fuel can do no harm… it’ll actually help remove any condensation build up in your fuel tank among other things…
I wouldn’t go buy it for that, but it certainly won’t hurt

The difficulty is finding non-E gas. I’m up in Summerville and the only place I’ve seen in our area that is non-E is the Exxon down off of 526 in Mt. Pleasant.
What exactly are we supposed to use to stabilize our gas if we have to use the ethanol-treated puke?
I believe that the station in front of the Pig on 78 has NONe gas.

Viola’s Green-Flow on Longpoint Rod in Mt P (out towards the SPA-Wando terminal, right at last road into terminal - tell them Captain Ross sent you and get a Free Bag of ICE!) has E-Free also. $3.89/gallons right now, but NO problems!

Other treatments may not be the same, but Star Brite claims that their Star Tron product is safe and effective on both e-gas and non-e-gas. So far, so good for me with Star Tron (but I haven’t been using it long).

Duncan’s stop n shop on Redbank Rd in Goose Creek has ethanol free
it is easier to beg forgiveness than ask permission
Thanks for posting that info on the e-free gas station in Goose Creek. Likewise to T-Topless and Lynn. Good to know. We really need a pin-up thread or something with a consolidated list of such stations in the tricounty area. (There may already be such a list on here somewhere. I don’t know.) Until now, the only ones I’ve known of in my next of the woods are the one on Hwy 17 by Church’s Chicken on the Automile and the one on the corner of Sol Lagre and Folly.

We need to start a sticky-thread about where to find non-E gas.
Yes, there was an “E-Free Gas” thread once, but I can’t find it.
Also - most Marinas have E-free (not Daniel Island Marina oddly enough - if you;re fishing up that way).

Sticky thread. That was the word I was looking for when I said “pin-up”.

Pure Gas has an Iphone app. Love it. Locates closest EFree where ever you are. Found it from someone on here. Thanks. ; )
not sure what side of SVille you are on but the Citgo on Trolley Rd has Eth-free gas too, only premium though… that’s where I get it for the yard equipment
I get it for the boat West Ashley at that V station on 17 and Farmfield because they have it in the lower grade, and I’m filling up 20/30 gallons at a time… a much cheaper fill up than the Citgo high test in SVille…

All Sonnys in Summerville have non ethanol in hi grade. There are three locations, Old Orangeburg Rd, Boonehiil Rd and Trolley Rd.
