I’m pretty sure you were told wrong. SC state law, maybe, but not Federal. I filled a boat in central NC just last week, owner said he didn’t know how much longer he could get it, but that’s all he was selling for the present. Would I trust every station that said ‘non-ethanol’? No, but I trust this one …
I was getting phase separation in my fuel tank really bad. I switched to the gas by the dam in Irmo that advertises non ethanol gas and it stopped. So I am pretty sure it is ethanol free. Unless maybe it is treated some how. Either way it worked for me.
Also wanted to add that Chris V told me if you mix gas with ethanol and gas without ethanol you will get a gel that will gunk up your entire system. So if you do switch you have to run the tank dry.
A friend of mine at work switched to ethanol-free but still had about 6 gallons of ethanol gas in his 30 gal tank. Is he gonna get gummed up and if so, what’s the best course of action?
Fuel Express in Mt.P by miller is now carrying Ethanol free gas in premium, signs haven’t been put up yet, but they just started carrying it a few days ago. $2.89 this am.
yes the unattended station near the service road.
their supplier told me they buy ethanol free gas , but the pumps as far as I can see are not posted as such to tell you which grade (if any) is ethanol free.
right now pumps say 10% ethanol
