Got an mid 80’s Evinrude 40 horse tiller that will turnover, but won’t start. Put meter on wires. Blk/white to white/blk reads 40 ohms, brown/yellow to brown reads 540 ohms. No tone on any combinations of wires. Shouldn’t blk/wh to wh/blk tone out? Or, does this stator read good. Has spark, but appears to be weak on both plugs. Motor does have killswitch, made sure switch was open during testing. Should I be looking at powerpack? Motor is push button and/or pull start. Checked compression at 150-160. Trying to eliminate replacing parts that are good. Thanks for any advice/info in advance.
TO ACCURAELY CHECK STATOR YOU NEED A DVA METER TO CHECK OUTPUT
