Went out for an all day event on this past Sat in a creek I had never been in. Did some homework via Google earth and with an outdated fishing chart. Paid off. Fished all incoming with very little action. Just as the tide started to shift we tied off to some structure. Watch another boat put shepherd after shepherd in the boat (not all keepers). We fished for trout in that area and put the first keeper in the cooler. After awhile, the other folks decided to pick up and go with 1/2 dozen keeper sheep and a slot red. they trolled over and offered up their remaining fiddlers. Me and my brother in law caught shepherd for the next 4 hours, finally putting another keeper in the cooler just before dark. Probably caught 40+ fisher throughout the day (drum, trout, sheeps, small reds). All day venture, sore shoulders, beautiful day, and with a couple for the dinner table. know matter how I tell the story, it was time well spent. What a great start to the New Year. If the person who gave us those expensive and hard to get fiddlers (for this time of year) reads this, I want to say Thank You again! I try to do the same when I’m out, guess it was my turn to be on the receiving end.
That’s what you call putting in your time, to learn an area, congratulations on what you learned. Found a spot like that this year, best couple of trips I’ve ever had.

I believe he’s referring to sheepshead?
Yes, you guys are right. It was supposed to be sheepshead. Spell check got the best of me. Thanks for catching that.
