Eye Strike Jigs On Sale Online

If you have never fished a Eye Strike jig (like me), and wanted to get started with one of the samples packs, which would you choose.

@Optiker
What size and weight is this hook and eye? No offense, but hard to tell by your hand size, lol

I’m going to try some, but not sure what I need to get started with. I think Iike tike the swim ones and maybe some Tx
Thoughts?

let’s listen in…

Thanks Stump. I purposely don’t post about Eye Strike here because I’m not a paid sponsor.

EF, what is shown in the pic is a 3/16 oz Texas Eye jig. It has a great 3/0 VMC EWG hook. It’s rigged with a Pearl white 4" Scented JerkShadZ. This is my personal go-to rig, with only the color of the plastic changed out.

It kind of depends on if you prefer an open hook or a weedless hook. Open hooks, by far our best selling product are TroutEye jigs, but TBH the SwimbaitEye jigs are an improvement in design over TroutEyes. The public is slowly starting to figure it out. Trout Eyes have 1/0 hooks in the Finesse variety and 2/0 hooks usually. SwimbaitEye come in 3/0 and 5/0 hooks.

I prefer TexasEye’s because being weedless you can cast them into spartina or shrubs and usually get them out. Not so much with an open hook. The hookup ratio with a TexasEye is as good as an open hook provided you use them with Z-Man lures with slots top and bottom, like the jerkshadz. The little TexasEye Finesse has a light wire 1/0 hook but it really fights above its weight class. You won’t yank a 30" red out of a dock with the drag locked down, but if you set the drag appropriately I’ve caught reds up to 30" on them no problem. They match really well to the smaller 3" ish profiles.

TexasEye jigs have been catching on in the upper gulf coast and Texas lately, as people discover how good they slide through turtle grass. When I traveled to Port Mansfield, I caught my PB trout at the time on a 1/8 Texas Eye on the 4" JerkShadZ.

Thanks for asking. Y’all are always welcome to ask me even if you’d rather do it by DM.

I looked at your website on my laptop vs my phone and the differences in size and design made more sense to me, I guess I needed bigger pictures.

I ended up getting 180 of various sizes and styles in the combo packs, ,a little OCD maybe but I’ll lose, best guess, 40 or 50 jig heads a year, plus I’ll give some to my small mouth, lakers, and walleye fishing buddies up here and see how it goes.

Thanks for the reply and for all your efforts in the fishing community.

It’s my intention to get my pic on your site hiding behind the first walleye and muskellunges caught.

Let’s listen in…

Thanks EF I hope you love them. Hate to spoil your dreams but we’ve had many walleye and musky’s caught on them! I’d venture to say there are very few fish that haven’t been caught on a TroutEye, since they are distributed world wide by Z-Man. It’s really cool to see.

Well then, just cancel my order, lol

Just funnin’, I’m anxious to try them

caught a couple today, I just took a magic marker and drew some dots on the jig heads with brushy eyebrows and it worked OK for a few minutes until the ink washed off.

I bet the real ones are gonna be reel* nice

That’s gonna be some good eatin
The neighbors and their hounds will be showing up when you drop the first batch

I usually don’t keep smallmouth bass. These will be fried up sunday for the superbowl covered dish. Some of the kids requested my “crispy fish”. It’s just chunks of fish deep fried in house autry, but they love it.

I was talking to some guys yesterday on the lake and they were saying we are encouraged to keep a limit of smallmouth bass now and kill every alabama bass you see. Evidently the alabama bass are breeding with the smallies and the offspring is a fish called a “Meanmouth”.

Its getting so bad in Tennessee some of the lakes have a no creel or size limit on the smallies to try and slow the bama roll.

I feel certain it’s headed to a lake near you soon.

lets listen in…

Hypothetical question EF?
How much would it cost to buy a place similar to yours?
Really getting tired of the traffic and everything else that the Yankees have brought down here.

Priceless

I sent you a PM

We call them Spotted Bass, or Spot’s, around here, but, yes, they are ruining the resident Largemouth stock on Hartwell!!

Game Wardens are asking that we throw every one we catch on the shore, unless we are keeping some to eat.

Then, only keep a legal creel limit…??

Hooked up

Some for now, some for later

I need me one of then stickas :ok_hand:
