Stress, what happened to your boat?

1996 21’ TROPHY
1996 150 MARINER

I lost her off the coast off Charleston 05-24-08,due to some bad judgement calls. I should have left her at home that day and stayed there myself.A storm blew in we lost power she took on to much water and that as they is the end of the story.I go to sleep every night and wake every morning to the dumna-- mistakes I made on that day,I count myself lucky that all 5 of us are here today. Expensive lesson to say the least.

I have been wondering about your boat to for a while. Hate to hear that, its got to be heartbreaking but i guess you just look at it the best way you can atleast you are still here to fish another day. Glad you all had a safe and fun trip. Goodluck next time and thanks for giving us something to read.

Wishin I Was Fishin

Mr. King I would hope Ive done more than give you something to read.I hope all newcomers will learn not to push Mother Nature, it could have happen to others that day.It would set well with me to know someone else ,profitted off of my lose. Thats is the best that I could hope for.You have a nice Holiday.

the boat is still in the ocean? man i am sorry to hear that their is no way to get to it?

Glad to hear you had a good time fishing. Sorry to hear about your boat. If you ever would like to go fishing let me know maybe you could teach me something.

What were the Seas like that fateful day? Insurance didn’t buy you a new one? Definitely sorry to hear about the loss though. Nobody could EVER imagine the severity of that and how bad it would be unless you were there yourself. I’ve been caught in some mean nasty storms before with 10+ swells crashing over the 20’ dual console 1968 boat the family used to have but it never sunk with us on it…It did sink another time and also catch fire…Not sure what happened to Ol’ faithful…we traded her for a 14’ jon boat with a 9 hp engine…Never will quite understand why dad did that…

Hydra2450- would love to fish with you some time, but you dont want me to teach you anything. You need some one like Sellsfish-- EF–Phin-Lone Ranger-and numbers of others. You need people who know the ocean. There is very little I can teach anyone,I can show you how to rig trolling baits. But from the last three months of reading and listen on this site if I had to pick one person to show me anything about this area it would be hands down Sellsfish.I dont want to piss anyone else off but he has impressed me with his knowledge about course and operations of a boat… Florida Boy,–The Coast Guard called the waves at our location at 20-22 feet, I know they were at least 16.Honestly my boat should never have been there. Hind site is 2020.We were very lucky that day that someone was not lost, and I was not the only one out there. The people who were knows it got real ugly real fast. Most people on this site knows all about it, many will not talk about it anymore. I guess they got real tired of it after 12 pages. I only talk about it if I am asked.I live with it everyday and night.Maybe if I tell enought others about my stupid mistakes they wont make them to. But like my old Pappy told me- A hard head makes for a sore butt. FishgetR-- There is nothing worth going after now, she been under to long.If she has not been salavaged already. Everyone have a nice week,I hope the storm passes by you. Frank

Well you don’t have to teach me a thing. You can just go with me sometime. After the storm passed though. Get my T-top fixed and we can go. No problem, I just go alot in the week because of my job. Nobody can go with me much at that time. So let me know.

Hydra2450- Thanks for the invite may very well take you up on that, thansks again. Are you ready for the storm? Good luck and have a nice week. Frank

Well Stress how ready can we get. I live inland and my boat is here so all I have to worry about is trees falling and the cows getting loose. But anytime you want to go just let me know and we will pick a day.

I will keep that in mind, thanks again. Frank
