F225 with 300 hrs to be sold- what price?

I just repowered my boat. Gonna sell one F225 (fantastic condition) and one with blown powerhead.
-what price should I ask for the pristine engine?
-What price for the blown motor?
-Should I sell it in parts (lower unit, mid section, powerhead, …)?

Looking for thoughts. I have prices from dealers and other forums.
Thx,
M7

I recently repowered also. Had the same situation, one runs…one good for parts. Let them go for 1500.00. They were 1995 models ,however. Everyone was happy when we walked away from the deal. If they are newer engines I would think 4-5k would be fair. By the way Machado7, do you happen to be a local MD?

what year are the engines

2002 F225s, put into service in 2004. Really nice motors, newly serviced, lift kept.

Did they say what caused you to blow a powerhead?? What kind of hrs are on the motor??

350hrs on motors.
Crack found on bottom of oil pump. No explanation found. Several have suggested Yamaha would have stood by the motor, if the years were less. The prior owner used the boat like most use a garage kept car. He lived on the water in Miami. Boat behind his house on lift. He used the boat to go to a fish market about 10 min away. Occasional use by his sons. She had 250 hrs or so when I bought her, even though the boat was 6.5 yrs old.

She blew one engine about 75 hrs later. No alarms or warning sign. Diagnostic read out looked clean (I have the software and use it often to check on the motors). Just one of those rare things that Yamaha would have normally fixed, had these motors been used as much as normal.
Ironic situation- lightly used motors, so no Yamaha help on this premature failure.

Sucks, that’s a great motor. I love my F250 (same block).
