Not going to be able to make this one because we’re going to be at The Citadel to see Erika for Parents Weekend … Hate to miss it, but we’ll make up for it by going Redfishing with Erika …

… it’s my Wife’s fault we HAVE to fish !!!

Please do - need all the intel we can get for the Reds since we’re so out of practice it isn’t funny …

Spoonmaster will be fishing with me for the get-together; so you guys better bring your A game:)

I’d better check out my rod, reel, line and big heavy spoons. Sounds like my partner might be on some good fish. I’ll bring a couple of extra spoons, just in case one of those monster stripers breaks my line.

Hey Fog, do gars count? I’m really good at hooking them when I’m striper fishing. Maybe we could paint some stripes on one?

Tested out my rod and reel today. Couldn’t catch any with the big spoon, but did manage to put a few in the boat with a couple of other baits. Lost one monster fish. Stripped line like crazy and then the hook pulled out. I don’t think it was a gar!!

I’ve heard people have disappeared, never to be heard from again, after making posts like this in the Offshore Forum, but it’s looking pretty good so far for the weekend.

I hope you’re right Tim. I just mailed my entry fee this morning.

Just bumping this up one last time in case anyone else wants to fish.

From the latest forecast I’ve seen, it looks like we may get a little damp.

Now you see why guys catch hell for posting in advance about nice weekend forecasts. Looks like the front/rain should pass before Sunday am right now.

Went out this am and got in them schooling for over an hour…all small fish, but friends dad got some keepers in another area. I should have moved on after seeing they were all small, but even small fish are fun when schooling.

For anyone not fishing this, but lives on the lake or anyone else out there tomorrow, please feel free to stop by Spence around noon and have a couple of hot dogs with us…always have extra food.

Let’s all be careful on the water today. Most likely still some debris floating around out there.

Had a great time as usual, Tim. Thanks again for putting it together. My friend Mike enjoyed himself & sends his thanks too.

My compliments to the chef, as the Nathen’s hot dogs were cooked to perfection. Not to mention how the chili was at the perfect temperature.

What started out as a chilly, breezy am turned out to be an absolutely gorgeous afternoon with the sun popping out right about lunchtime. However, the fishing was tough for most everyone, with the exception of Fogman/Spoonmaster, who had 2 of the only 3 fish to weigh in. All 3 were within a few tenths of a lb of each other and just shy of 6 lbs.

The winning fish went to Karen Poots, the future Mrs Striperking82, and Fogman had the 2nd place fish.

Congratz to Karen and James!

Thanks Tim for putting on the get-together! With all the problems around us last week, it was good attitude adjustment to go out and catch a few fish, along with enjoying some fellowship and food with some of our forum posters. Good job!

Thanks also from me, Tim. It was a lo…ng time between bites out there yesterday. Some pretty tough wind probably didn’t help any. Nice to put more faces with names, good to meet more fishing folks. Congratulations to the winner. She and her boat beat a lot of good fishermen yesterday!!
I’m still trying to learn all of the livebait tactics. Luckily, I have a “teacher” for a fishing friend. Oh, Fog, sorry I lost that crazy first fish right at the boat. Never had one try to immitate a largemouth before.

Btw, Karen hauled away $92 for her first place fish and James went home with $40 for 2nd.
