With the weather as nice as it is this time of year and the fish biting pretty good I think we need to have a lttle “tournament” ($5/person) one weekend soon. There doesn’t seem to be much a reason to have to get out there early am to catch fish lately, so I’m thinking of making it for a few hours (maybe 3:00-7:00?) on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Weigh in at either Hilton or Koons.
So what is different this time you say???
NO BAIT FISHING ALLOWED!!!
Top water, spoons, jerk baits, fly fishing (RK) etc…but NO BAIT!
Reply if you think you may be interested and I’ll do a seperate post with details if there is enough interest.
If you reply include your preference as to what day and time…Sat am…Sun pm…etc We could always do it in the morning too and be done in time to watch any football games if that is the preference.
Why not a Saturday morning all-artificials tournament? To not have to get up early and not to miss alot of football, I would suggest 8AM lines in with 1:00 weigh-in. I like the idea of this type of event Skiff!

Once I posted and started thinking more about it, I think the am is best too. I want to have the weigh in during daylight hours and if we did an early evening weigh in that could mean having to leave some biting fish to make the weigh in. Starting in the morning will give us a good shot at maybe finding some schooling fish early on before trying some jigging.
Saturday the 3rd looks to be the best day. Official sunrise isn’t until 7:45 that morning (time changes that night), so we’ll go with that for a starting time and weigh in at Hilton at 12:30.
