Our Oldest son shane, his wife Ginger and our two grandaughters came to visit from Maryland…and just had to squeeze a couple fishing trips in:smiley:
Managed to scout up a few reds, flounder, croaker, whiting…and blackfish…mostly fishing around the jetties…black fish were small…reeeeally small…but had fun catching them. Fished in the morning…then found a place to anchor boat and off the stern we’d all go to hang out in the water with lifejackets and ropes to cool down…haha…and had a blast. Heres a couple pics…btw…Shane now knows you dont try to “lift” a 6-7 lb flounder out of the water without a net being there…lol…yep…lesson learned and long remembered I’m sure:wink:
How to hold and remove hook from massive black fish:smiley:
Did someone say WATER??
look in front of the shrimp boat…didnt even see it there until I downloaded pic…
lol…kinley asked…hey daaaaaaad…do you feel a warm spot in the water??
Good stuff Pen! My family and I spend an awful lot of time doing the floating-behind-the-boat-hanging-onto-the-dockline thing! That, and backflip contests off the side of the boat LOL (My oldest son is WAY better than me)
…we had a blast…but forgot to remind shane to put sunscreen on his face again…hour of so floating in the water with the water reflecting on your face=ouch!
only got out for more boiled peanuts, chicken and something to drink…I was designated driver as usual so the guys enjoyed a cold blue cola…
Lucky kids, parents and grandparents, great day! Not many kids have a grammaw who can teach then how to fish, throw a castnet, catch crabs and cook what you catch, and a patient grandad who can fix anything, and, oh yeah, a dog named Roo.Save you pics, Penny, you have a picture book there.

they both love to fish as does Shane…ginger…not so much…but likes to go out in the boat…Yep…proud of my girls( and family)Kinley…the youngest LOVES to cook…and when here follows me foot for foot wanting to help!..she left here knowing how to make Real mac and cheese, s’ghetti,Real 'nana puddin, biscuits and fried shrimp and slaw…Shane said last time they were here and went home she cooked everything she had learned here and still does…… she’s a pitcher and plays short stop and 3rd on a traveling little girls team and at school, soccer and bmx racing…lol…little tomboy just like me:smiley: ,just a lot prettier and tougher!
