My sister was down from NH w/ long time boy friend who wanted to go offshore fishing. I planned for the best day of the week yesterday.
He came down with the swine flu Tues so couldn’t go. My sister stood in. We left out of GT marina around 8am looked for bait and finally found some outside the jetties. She enjoyed the sabiki and jiggging up some nice pogies. So much i had to pull her away to go fishing:)Post stories consisted of her telling her boyfriend about using the mitubishi to catch bait, hehehe. We left out for deeper water, didn’t dare go to far as i didn’t know how she would do. Stopped on Upchurch and almost immediately the AJs were on us. Caught four over 30lbs and she was done with that but super excited after all the yelling and cussing at the fish which wouldn’t come in. Reef donkey she understood completely. Started trolling and got into the kings, mostly snakes but constant bites and a couple around 20lbs. 5ea boated and released. Lots of short strikes and murdered baits. Then hooked into a smoker which changed into a monster barracuda. Great day sunshine and warm 2-3ftrs. Good memmories. Plus i played the family card to take a day off work ![]()
