Purty boat and it catches fish too. Nothing like getting the skunk off new equipment and no place better than the hatchery on an overcast day! I have never fished a jig & pig/plastic combo and need a coach sometime…I guess just a matter of learning to pitch and an investment of time. Envious of both the boat and time to fish. Regards…
Yes, I was at the hatchery. My buddy was using top water and I always wanted to catch a bass with a pig & jig. You are right because it takes time and patience to fish with it. The top water bites were exciting, but I wanted to catch one with the jig. Persistence paid off. Thanks.

Boat must not be real?

Seems if you want to weed out the smaller bass and fish deep, a pig and jig is good choice.
Only thing I though “uncle Josh” was good for were jack or pike, until a gentleman introduced me to it while waiting out a storm under the tea house.
Pig and jig is indeed good for deeper water. I find a jig is the most effective to fish in a multitude of conditions, and most fun is topwater, namely frogs. If you wanna fish deeper try a grey or white paddletail or jerkbait on a lead head jig, that’s a killer.
