Fat Boy 8/8 & 8/9

Fished the SCSSA on Saturday and went 3 for 4 on the sails. We found the bait and the fish were there. Had a few slinger dolphin and a skipjack or 2 and that was about it, but the action was steady for the most part. The ocean was okay, but not near as nice as Sunday.
One Sunday, it was a beautiful day on the ocean, unfortunately, we could not find near as much bait as we did on Saturday, but we did manage to pick at the fish and were 3 for 5 on the sails. The first fish of the day, we were sure it was a wahoo, but when we finally got it to the boat, we were all shocked to see a YFT that made it in the cooler, and Yes, it was a 27 lb YFT and NOT a BFT. Just as we put the tuna on ice, I saw a sail jumping and we realized it was on our left long rigger, and with a release, thats how we started the day with the sails. The wahoo were very thick and cut us off left and right and after we finally managed to get the first wahoo of the year in the boat, another one came in and cut my squid chain in half.
Anyway, we picked at the sails up until 3:00 and the admiral finally caught her first 2 sails. Riding home at 25 knots is always a great finish to the day.

good job Alan. congrats on the yellowfin tuna. Enjoy those fillets!
good showing in the tournament with the sailfish also.

Fat Boy team, great couple of days fishing…you guys and gals did it up right…congats

Congrats on good fushn! We ended up catchn a yft on sun also. Wish it was 27lbs though. It was prob 25" long, little fella. I said blackfin but after a brief disscusion the far more experienced anglers declared it a yellowfin. My 1st. Wish it was bigger and had friends with him. Oh well. Glad yall had a good 2 days
